Description: Moorooka Community Centre is a multipurpose brick hall, located at 40 Gainsborough Street, Moorooka.

The venue has on-site parking and street parking. To the front left of the hall is an accessible parking space a short distance from the main entry. There is a greenspace with pergola on the left-hand side of the building, running parallel to the entry pathway.

There are two separate entrances, one is for the main hall and the other is for the meeting room and both are accessed from the external entry pathway.

All doors both internal and external are manual doors, except for the main hall entrance and the meeting room entrance doors which both swing inward automatically after using a swipe card. All doorways are a minimum of 0.8m wide. Inside the hall, all areas have vinyl flooring except for the meeting room which is carpeted.

Access to the main hall is to the right, at the end of the entry pathway. There are two doors, the glass and aluminium door to the left is the main entrance to the hall and is independently accessible. A swipe card is required for access using the black card reader to the left of this door.

Through the main entry is a corridor. There is a grey door on the right that leads to a break-out area that links the main hall and kitchen. A swipe card is required for access using the black card reader to the left of this door.

On the right wall of the break-out area there are glass and aluminium double doors that open to the main hall. The main hall accommodates up to 147 people.

On the right side of the hall is a table storage area, these tables fold down and have wheels to make them easier to move and store. This storage area also accommodates a piano. Immediately to the right of the table storage area is a glass and aluminium door that leads directly outside to the footpath. At the front of the hall is a chair storage room, behind grey double-leaf doors. There are six knee-height benches running along the side walls. The hall features an audio-visual system which includes a projector and speakers. Audio-visual controls are located behind a grey door at the front right of the hall. The main hall also has an induction loop hearing system with an ampetronic amplifier. The space is air-conditioned, features ceiling fans and has windows with blinds that are operated using a pulley system.

Directly across the break-out area, opposite the main hall is the entry to the kitchen. The kitchen features a fridge with freezer, benchtop microwave, sink, boiling and chilled water tap and a separate ceramic wash basin. Also included is a cooktop and oven, which is for reheating food only. The kitchen features a servery window that opens to the breakout area and has a pulldown roller shutter. The sink and benches are not wheelchair accessible.

Returning to the main hall entrance, the corridor turns to the right after seven metres and then extends a further 12 metres. At the end of this corridor is a flight of four steps, with tactile ground surface indicators at the top and bottom and handrails on either side. This leads to a storeroom.

Exiting the storeroom and returning to the corridor, at the bottom of the stairs on the left is a grey door for the male toilets, which includes an ambulant toilet with assistance rails on each side of the toilet.

Past the door to the male toilets there is a second corridor that branches to the left. At the end of this corridor and turning to the left are two grey doors – one directly ahead for the unisex accessible toilet and one to the left for the female toilets. The female toilets include an ambulant toilet with assistance rails on each side of the toilet. The unisex accessible toilet has a right-hand transfer and features a baby change table. All toilets feature braille signage adjacent to each door. Also at the end of this corridor is a set of external stairs.

Returning to the external entry pathway, to the left is a path to the meeting room entrance. Halfway down this path and to the right is a glass and aluminium door. A swipe card is required for access using the black card reader to the left of this door.

This door opens into a corridor and there is a grey door on the right to enter the meeting room. A swipe card is required for access using the black card reader to the right of this door. The meeting room accommodates up to 15 people.

Tables and chairs are normally set up in the centre of the room. The meeting room features a kitchenette directly to the left of the entry, and includes a bar fridge, microwave, and a boiling and chilled water tap . The sink and benches are not wheelchair accessible. The meeting room also features an audio-visual system, which includes a projector and speakers. The audio-visual controls are located above the benches along the far-left wall of the room. There are three full-height windows to the right of the entry.
