The Rochdale Community Hall is a chapel style, timber building located at 48 Farmers Street, Rochedale.
This venue is accessible by public transport, bus stop ‘Miles Platting Road near Gardner Road, Rochedale’ is 350 metres from the hall.
Only street parking is available, there is no accessible parking on site. The hall is located near a shopping centre.
The hall is accessed from Farmers Street by a set of four stairs with handrails on both sides and tactile ground surface indicators at the top and bottom of the stairs.
The hall can also be accessed by a concrete footpath that wraps around the front of the building that leads to an accessible timber landing with handrails on both sides.
At this venue, all doors both internal and external are manual doors and are a minimum of 0.9 metres wide.
Inside, all areas have polished timber flooring, except for the accessible toilet which has vinyl flooring.
The hall can accommodate up to 74 people. The hall features air-conditioning, ceiling fans and an audio-visual system that includes a tv and speakers.
The hall also includes an infrared hearing loop system. There is a children’s outdoor playground to the right of the hall.
Entry to the hall is through a white door located at the front of the hall and a swipe card is required for access, using the black card reader to the right of the door.
Through the entry door is a foyer with a kitchenette immediately to the left.
The kitchenette includes a bar fridge, benchtop microwave, sink and a wall-mounted instant boiling water unit.
The sink and benches are not wheelchair accessible.
Returning to the foyer there is an archway, directly opposite the entry door, that leads into the hall.
Tables are stored in the immediate left corner of the hall, these tables fold down and have wheels to make them easier to move and store.
In the rear left corner of the hall is a unisex accessible toilet with left-hand transfer.
The accessible toilet features a baby change table and braille signage is located on the door of the toilet.
Immediately to the right of the unisex accessible toilet is a small stage approximately three metres wide, accessed by two steps that run the full width of the stage.
In the rear right corner of the hall, next to the stage, is a white door leading into a storeroom that accommodates the audio-visual controls and a chair storage area.
Additional chairs are also stored along the right-hand wall of the hall.
