The Toowong Community Meeting Place is a brick building, situated on the edge of Perrin Park at 14 Josling Street, Toowong.
This venue is accessible by public transport, bus stop ‘Josling Street near Herbert Street, Stop 16’ is a short distance away.
With only street parking available, there is no accessible parking on site.
At this venue all doors, both internal and external, are manual doors and are a minimum of 0.9 metres wide.
Inside, all areas have vinyl flooring, except for the meeting room which has carpet.
Entry to the venue is through a white door at the front of the building.
A swipe card is required for access using the black card reader to the right of this door.
Through the door is a corridor.Turning right into the corridor leads to the kitchenette and amenities and turning left leads to the meeting room.
The kitchenette features a bar fridge, a microwave mounted above head height, a sink and a wall- mounted instant boiling water unit.
The sink and benches are not wheelchair accessible.
Immediately to the left on entering the kitchenette is a white door that leads to the amenities.
An accessible male toilet with right-hand transfer is through the first door on the right.
An accessible female toilet with left-hand transfer is opposite the amenities entrance and includes a baby-change table.
All toilets feature braille signage on the doors.
Returning to the front entry and turning left into the corridor, near the end is a white door that leads to the meeting room.
The meeting room wraps around the corner and runs parallel to the corridor.
Just inside the entrance is a wall-mounted television above bench-height cupboards.
At the rear of the room is the chair storage area with tables stored along the outer wall.
These tables fold down and have wheels that make them easier to move and store.
The room has bifold doors that can be used to divide the area in half.
The room is also fully air-conditioned and has multiple windows with blinds that are operated by a pulley system.
This space can accommodate up to 26 people.
